Beth Grosshans's profile

New York Metropolitan Opera

Psychologist and author Dr. Beth Grosshans supports the arts. Dr. Beth Grosshans sits on its advisory board of the New York Metropolitan Opera (the Met).

Much of the Met's work seeks to increase opera awareness and understanding among young people. Its two marquee programs for this purpose are its HD Live in Schools initiative and the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program.

HD Live in Schools started out bringing the Met's Live in HD series to public schools in New York City. It has since expanded, partnering with school districts across the country and serving thousands of students. Through early exposure, teacher training, and interaction opportunities, the Met hopes to increase appreciation for the classical arts among young people.

The Lindemann Young Artist Development Program seeks to train the next generation of opera talent. Young artists who aspire to perform in opera can cover main stage roles during the opera season and enjoy a robust partnership with the Juilliard School. They also get the chance to interact with current leading talent.
